Quests & Awards
Quests are the core of the EGD program, and you can go on as many or as little as you wish. Each quest covers a specific topic or skill, and many have multiple levels to complete for topics you’re especially interested in. At the end of your quest, you earn a physical badge to put on your jacket. Awards have special requirements and usually have stricter ones than quests.
Unlike school assignments, quests and awards are self-directed. You can explore hundreds of quests and awards that cover everything from building your first game to starting a business, and if there isn’t an existing one, you can create your own.

How Quests Work
You can do the requirements alone, with your crew, or with friends outside of the program. You can take as long as you need to finish the quest, as long as you finish up any level-locked quests before you move up.
When you have completed all of the requirements, your crew guides will sign off on its completion and will give you your badge!
You can find detailed requirements for quests in the Quest Log. Want a preview? We have 5 starter activities from existing quests below.
How Awards Work
Awards mark milestones. They have special requirements, and usually stricter ones than quests. You can take as long as you need to finish the award, as long as you finish up any level-locked awards before you move up. Certain awards require approval from your Hub or HQ.
Want to go for our Highest Awards? These distinctions are earned over multiple years.
We are a certifying organization for the PVSA and Congressional Award. We also recognize and celebrate awards earned through other organizations. Members are welcome to display those achievements on their jacket.
