Every month, we recap the news covered in our Weekly Round-Up. Here’s what you might have missed this May:


May 1 - Scavengers Early Access launched through a Twitch Drops event. However, due to issues, it was made available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.


May 2 - Shirley Curry, the famed 84-year old YouTuber of Skyrim fame, also known as Skyrim Grandma, can now be a Skyrim follower by the power of a mod. Curry herself provided the voiceover of the follower.


May 3 - Discord, the popular communication app, is coming to the Playstation Network, stated Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), in a press release.


May 4 - As a part of the ongoing Apple v. Epic lawsuit trial a number of previously private sales, investment, and contract information are now publicly available.


May 5 - The popular anime and manga series Made in Abyss is getting an action RPG adaptation, releasing sometime in 2022.


May 6 - The action RPG classic Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is coming to all consoles May 7.


May 7 - The beat-em-up RPG Yakuza spin-off Judgement is getting a sequel, Lost Judgement, coming to current and last generation Xboxes and Playstations on Sept 24.


May 8 - After four years of development, GPUnity released the final update of their Nier: Automata HD texture pack.


May 9 - In celebration of its 2nd anniversary, The Third Age gave back to its players with gifts.

 

May 10 - YoYo Games launched Little Town, an interactive tutorial for GameMaker Studio 2.


May 11 - Brytenwalda Studios announced Beyond Mankind: The Awakening’s release on August 31 for PC, Linux, and Mac.


May 12 - Orbit Studios launched Retro Machina, the Best Brazilian Game award winner at this year’s BIG Festival.


May 13 - A Rogue Escape will find its way to Oculus and SteamVR on June 10.


May 14 - ON3D Studios launched its cyberpunk stealth game, Quantum Replica on consoles.


May 15 - Leaks went meta as The Division: Heartland’s gameplay got leaked—including a warning against leaks.


May 16 - EVOS Esports added PUMA to its long list of collaborations for exclusive virtual and physical products.

 

May 17 - Guild Esports opened The Guild Academy, giving resources and support to players aged 11+ to hone their gaming abilities.


May 18 - Maid of Sker will be featuring new FPS Challenge Modes starting May 26 across multiple consoles.


May 19 - Scarlet Moon Records released Prescription for Sleep: Stardew Valley in collaboration with game creator, ConcernedApe.


May 20 - Get-A-Grip Chip and Learning Factory won Games for Change’s STEM Your Game Challenge, gaining a combined $150K funding for their games.


May 21 - Games went meta as Nice Game Publishing announced Game of the Year—a board game about making video games.


May 22 - Hyper Dash raced its way into the tournament scene with the first Side Dash, and the first 5v5 league for the game, Dash League.


May 23 - Crusader Kings III received its first major expansion with the announcement of Royal Court.

 

May 24 - Akupara Games will be publishing Silver Lining Studio’s multi-award winning game, Behind the Frame.


May 25 - Strange Scaffold released An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs—a dog petting, alien language-deciphering, comedy adventure unlike any other.


May 26 - Pokémon Company International announced release dates and sneak peeks on Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Legends: Arceus.


May 27 - Oddworld Inhabitants released Oddworld: Collection for Nintendo Switch.


May 28 - Song of Horror released on PS4, with an Xbox One release pending.


May 29 - Microid celebrated the life of Syberia creator, Benoît Sokal, who passed away the day before.


May 30 - Peter Fabiano, producer in Resident Evil: Village, left Capcom after 13 years with the company.


May 31 - The Microsoft Store accidentally leaked Two Point Campus, the follow-up to Two Point Hospital.
