WAFFLE GAMES

The 2018 Waffle Games at Hunter College - March 23rd, 2018

The Esports and Game Design Collective invites you to a night of games, tournaments, talks, workshops, and waffles! Join us as we celebrate all types of games and gamers. Free entry, free waffles, and open to all CUNY students (You will need a valid CUNY ID to enter the building).

Video game, board game, and card game free-play will be available all night! Choose from over 300 games, from the N64 to the PS4. We also have those fancy designer board games, as well as the classics like Monopoly and Scrabble.

Want to play even more games? Stop by the Playtesting Room to play games developed by your fellow CUNY students. Do you make games? Did you make a game? Are you still working on perfecting your game? Bring your game or game prototype and set up shop. Enjoy free exposure and playtesters for your games. You must register online here to reserve a spot. You must still general RSVP on Eventbrite.

Game design, gameplay, and esports workshops and talks are free and capped at 40 students. To ensure you receive a spot, please register online early. Stand-by lines will begin 15 minutes before each workshop. If you pre-register for a workshop and change your mind about attending, notify the person at check-in so we can give your spot to someone else. We will be announcing workshops over the next few weeks. You will be able to register for each here on this page (You will need to general RSVP, as well as the workshop you want). Game Design workshops are Bring Your Own Laptop. If you don't own one, you can always sit in anyways and share with someone!

50/50 Tournaments require online pre-registration and a $1 donation. You can register on our club’s website in the Waffle Games section under Tournaments. You will receive an email with the time and location of your first match, March 21st. Walk-In cash registration will be accepted on a limited first-come-first-serve basis no later than 6 PM.

Rules and details for tournaments are also on our website. For 2v2 tournaments, you can either register with a friend or enter our Solo Queue to be paired up ((For League of Legends Solo Queue, we will do our best to pair you up with someone close to your rank (and to pair supports with non-supports)).

To get your free freshly made Belgian waffle: If you are from a different CUNY school, just show us your ID when you hand in the slip we give you at check-in to get your waffle! If you are a Hunter student, you must be in our Discord. Write your Discord tag on your slip and after confirmation, and you will receive your fluffy delicious waffle and either a Discord button or sticker!
