Every month, we recap the news covered in our Weekly Round-Up. Here’s what you might have missed this October:


October 1 - Masahiro Sakurai revealed in an announcement video that the characters of Minecraft are joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate lineup.


October 2 - Mediatonic announced the release date of Fall Guys’ Season 2: Oct 8.

 

October 3 - Minecraft announced the Summer 2021 release of The Caves and Cliffs Update.


October 4 - Sony gave the Japanese press a close-up look at the PS5.


October 5 - Four days after release, Genshin Impact reached 17M mobile downloads.


October 6 - Watch Dogs Legion announced Bloodline, its season pass featuring a playable Wrench and Darcy, an Assassin’s Creed tie-in character.


October 7 - A little over a week after release, Phasmophobia reached a weekly average of 80K viewers on Twitch.


October 8 - Humble Games released Ikenfell, Happy Ray Games’s magical turn-based tactical RPG.


October 9 - Supergiant Games’ Hades announced a test branch for the title that would preview post-launch patches.

 

October 10 - Razer released the Iskur gaming chair during RazerCon 2020.


October 11 - Quake level-designer Sandy Petersen shared on Twitter details about the shelved plans to include a level with a 300-foot zombie.


October 12 - German indie studio 42 Bits Entertainment launched the Steam page of Fata Deum, their upcoming god game.


October 13 - Neocore Games announced King Arthur: Knight’s Tale, an RPG featuring the Arthurian legend with XCOM-esque mechanics.


October 14 - Brawlhalla launched its crossover event with The Walking Dead, featuring Rick, Michonne, and Darryl.


October 15 - Raji: An Ancient Epic launched on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.


October 16 - Ghost of Tsushima’s Legends update released with a co-op, new missions, and New Game+ with exclusive features.

 

October 17 - Mediatonic released a survey asking players to share opinions on Fall Guys rounds.


October 18 - G2 Esports won against Gen.G in the League of Legends World Championship quarter-final match.


October 19 - The Game Band announced Where Cards Fall will be releasing for PC and Switch.


October 20 - William Chyr Studio’s Manifold Garden released on Steam and Itch.


October 21 - Scorn released a gameplay trailer, showcasing the H.R Giger-inspired game’s amalgamation of body horror with all its squishy sound effects.


October 22 - GoNNER 2 released on Steam.


October 23 - Bandai Namco released a Halloween trailer for the upcoming Little Nightmares II.

 

October 24 - King Pins released on Itch.


October 25 - GSD Group, in partnership with architecture firm Gensler, released renders of the future Atari Hotels.


October 26 - Apex Legends introduced Horizon, its newest Legend for Season 7 Ascension.


October 27 - Netflix announced an upcoming Assassin’s Creed live-action series.


October 28 - Sea of Thieves newest update Fate of the Damned launched, keeping with the game’s annual Halloween events.


October 29 - Stirring Abyss released on Steam, bringing its own spin of Lovecraft’s horror “The Temple” to life.


October 30 - Supermassive Games released Little Hope, the latest installment to The Dark Pictures Anthology.

 

October 31 - Riot Forge, Riot Games’s new publishing label, announced Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is slated for an early 2021 release.
