Welcome back to the Weekly Gaming Round-Up!
Every week, we cover the latest in the gaming world. This week we got to see the announcement of a brand new Street Fighter V DLC Character and a new mode for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends!
On Monday, August 2nd, Grime was released for Google Stadia and PC.
Grime was developed by Clover Bite and published by Akupara Games.
Grime is an action-adventure RPG in which your goal is to defeat menacing creatures with “Living weapons' ' that mutate, form and function”. Upon defeating your enemies, you consume them with a “black hole” which will help strengthen and progress you throughout the game.
In other Monday news, it was announced that the highly anticipated Dead Space remake will be directed by decorated Assassin's creed Valhallah director, Eric Baptizat.
The Dead Space remake is in development and is set to release in 2022.
On Tuesday, August 3rd, Lemnis Gate released for the Playstation 5/4, Xbox Series X/S and One, and PC.
Lemnis Gate was developed by Ratloop Games Canada and published by Frontier Foundry.
Lemnis Gate is a SCi-fi turn-based FPS game that takes place in a time loop. The game is competitive online and also supports split screen 2 player co-op.
In Lemnis Gate, your goal is to defeat your opponent by altering the past and changing the future in your favor over the course of five rounds of combat.
In other news, a new character was revealed and others shown in a Summer Capcom presentation for Street Fighter V.
Soon to release characters, Oro and Akira’s movesets were shown in the presentation. Towards the end of the presentation, Luke the final Street Fighter V DLC character was revealed.
Oro and Akira will be released for Street Fighter V on August 16 and Luke sometime in November.
On Wednesday August 4th, Dungeon Defenders: Awakened released for the Nintendo Switch.
Dungeon Defenders: Awakened was developed and published by Chromatic Games.
Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is a four player co-op tower defense action RPG game in which your goal is to defeat armies of orcs, demons and dragons as a team in order to save the world of “Etheria”.
Dungeon Defenders: Awakened was originally released for PC on May 28, 2020, and later on March 17, 2021 for Xbox One and Playstation 4.
In other news, it was announced that the co-op, multiplayer mode of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will get a stand alone release.
The critically acclaimed open world action adventure game was developed by Sucker Punch productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The Ghost of Tsushima was released on July 17, 2020.
The stand alone release of Ghost of Tsushima: legends will include a new mode called Rivals that will release on September 3rd. The Rivals mode will “pit two teams against each other against hordes of enemies”. The main function of the mode will be to collect “magnamata” from defeated enemies and use it to gain an advantage over your opponent.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will release by itself on September 3, 2021 for $19.99.
On Thursday, August 5th, Dreamscaper was released for PC and the Nintendo Switch.
Dreamscaper was developed by Afterburner Studios and published by Freedom games, Maple Whispering, and Afterburner Studios.
Dreamscaper is an action RPG that includes elements from Brawler, top down shooter, and dungeon crawler games. In the game you play as Cassidy venturing into her dreamscape to conquer her greatest fears and nightmares. You also explore Cassidy’s life when awake.
In other news, it was announced by Bloomberg that South Park creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker would be planning to release a new “3D Video game set in the world of South Park” among other things as part of their $900 million deal with ViacomCBS.
There have been nine previous games released that were inspired by the South Park television series.
On Friday August 6th, a patch was made for the recently released Cyberpunk action RPG called Ascent by Neon Giant.
The patch’s new features include the improvement of performance in DX12 and ray tracing as well. Numerous bugs will also be fixed.
These improvements were provided to microsoft players as the steam version of Ascent already included ray tracing and DLSS.
